- The desktop tools include the following components which are

- jot Jot is a display-oriented cut-and-paste style ASCII
- text editor tuned to run on Silicon Graphics
- machines. Jot is written using pure Graphics Library
- code, and hence will not work on a generic X
- terminal, and it ignores the X resources. Jot (which
- was originally called "zip"), is tuned to run well on
- large files, and can edit arbitrary binary files. It
- has been superseded since IRIX 6.3 by the NEdit text
- editor, available in the nnnneeeeddddiiiitttt product.

- iconsmith A GL program for building IRIX Interactive Desktop
- icons.

- twilight A GL-based program mimicking a starry night sky,
- fading from a red-orange sunset to a dark blue-black
- night. Accessed as "Twilight" on the Desktop >

- IRIX Interactive Desktop (_I_I_D(_1_G)).

- haven Manages a GL program as a screensaver.

- noof New in IRIX(R) 6.5. A GL program displaying many
- twisting twirling rainbow-colored star and flower
- shapes. Accessed as "Diatoms" on the Desktop >

- ep A GL program depicting a few twisting spinning ranks
- of rainbow-colored squares. Accessed as
- "ElectroPaint" on the Desktop > Customize > Screen

- bongo A GL program depicting many rainbow-colored jiggly
- bouncing cubes. Accessed as "Octahedra" on the
